about the baltimore wisdom project

Mission

The
mission of Wisdom Projects, Inc. and the Baltimore Wisdom Project (BWP) is to reimagine education and reimagine the world by enhancing the lives of youth and adults with holistic education, intercultural understanding, and anti-oppressive, liberationist thought leadership.

Together with Dr. Theodore Richards’ Chicago Wisdom Project, the BWP makes up a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization called Wisdom Projects, Inc. (Feel free to contact us for supporting information.)

Wisdom Projects, Inc. is grounded in the Wisdom Education Movement. To learn more about this movement, please obtain and read Dr. Theodore Richards' Creatively Maladjusted: The Wisdom Education Movement Manifesto (Homebound Publications, 2013).

Since 2013, we have partnered with over 25 different learning communities to offer educational services. Here are a few of these sites:  the McKim Center, the 29th Street Community Center, Penn North Kids Safe Zone, Harambee Center, the Bulldog Basketball School in residence at the Barclay Elementary and Middle School, Robert W. Coleman Elementary School in conjunction with the Holistic Life Foundation, and Franklin Square Elementary/Middle School. Click here for a listing of our other collaborations. When we partner with a site, we deploy a "whole community" approach whereby we work broadly and deeply with families, children, staff, and communities to uplift and affirm.
